Two SMMR PIs have collaborated to win a new NERC-funded project to form the ‘Solent to Sussex Bay Seascape Restoration Network’.

The project was funded through of the NERC ‘Integrating finance and biodiversity for a nature-positive future’ programme. The Partnership will connect existing seascape restoration projects with the research community to identify actionable solutions that support the enhanced integration of financial, regulatory and biodiversity considerations for seascape restoration.

The project is a new collaboration that builds upon the SMMR projects Diverse Marine Values (led by the University of Portsmouth) and ReSOW (led by the National Oceanography Centre), and includes the Universities of Sussex, Brighton and Surrey, along with a wide range of public and private sector organisations.
